Spring Rocks!

Its official, it's the first day of Spring people! That makes me one happy little bunny indeed.

To celebrate this most auspicious occasion I took a bleary eyed walk round the garden this morning, randomly snipping here and there to bring some floral beauty to the table whilst enjoying my coffee.

Here's to a year of abundant gardens, joyful floriferousness and the happiness that they bring.

    1. Cheers Guys. I am sure you are now getting ready for another great year of gardening. The koi pond is looking incredible.

  2. Dear Mr. Paul,
that is such a lovely little bouquet - and the tenderness of the young leaves and colours are hightened by the iron cast amphora!
I couldn't resist and bought a little pot of sweet violets, viola odorata - the fill the high rooms with their dark-sweet smell (a whiff of it is in my perfume Balenciaga) - and later I will find a place in the backyard of the house and digg them in, which is strictly forbidden, but of course I don't care.

    1. PS: Come to think of it: I might take on the pseudonym "Mrs. Willmot" -- such a fascinating woman! She used to throw seeds into every gardenbed she walked by -- and she was so utterly extravagant.

    2. A friend of mine adores Balenciaga's now discontinued Cristobal and has me search out rare bottles on my travels.
Love a bit of guerrilla gardening Britta. Violets are utterly romantic, the perfect flower to accompany a first date apparently. We grow the Rothschild violets here.
I have another friend who always present his girlfriends and dinner companions with a small posy of violets when they are in season.
Mrs Wilmot sounds fascinating so long as she doesn't throw seeds in my flower beds:)

    1. Thanks Kim. We always cut flowers or foliage fresh from the garden to put in the kitchen throughout the year, even in the depths of Winter! Especially love this time of year when the colours get more vibrant. :)
