What's behind door number #1?

Whilst out for a walk in Osterley Park today I happened upon this magical portal.

I do love a little mystery and intrigue and I couldn't resist daydreaming about

what beautiful adventure might lay in wait on the other side.

An enchanted garden, a haunted mansion, a handsome gardener or perhaps a snarling rottweiler?

I was itching to turn that handle and have a peek.

What do you think is behind door number one?

  1. I am thinking that behind door number one it will be 'magically wreathed' in even more drifts of white flowers from that beautiful Clematis armandii.

  2. Your past life!
I went through hypnotic regression once, the way to do it was to walk through a door, on the other side is your past life. I was a bloke named George!
    Have a great Sunday :-)

    1. It always amuses me to hear that people were famous historical figures in their past life. Never a scullery maid or a royal back scratcher!

  4. I love doors to secret places and always want to enter. I expect magical things to be waiting on the other
side, like a true Secret Garden - overgrown but beautiful, the fragrance from the climbing roses taking my breath away. Or perhaps a spectacular potager with all my favorite veggies waiting to be harvested in pretty baskets and transported into my dream kitchen (think Aga, open shelves, copper pans hanging overhead, terra-cotta floor). Goodness me - see what you do to me Paul - turn me into a crazy lady with just an old clematis covered door!!!!

Happy day - please find more doors soon!
    Hugs - Mary

  7. Paul, maybe a stone path down to a little stream. A boat awaits there and I can paddle through willows to a lovely cottage....I can't decide if I want a handsome prince to answer the door or have tea and scones waiting for me..Hmmm.Maybe both?? I am screwed up. Lol. xxo

A wonderful question. I believe there is a white garden. A picnic has been prepared and pink gin is being served. Slainte
